This year, the 16th Annual Walk
to Remember will be held virtually for 2020. Participants are encouraged
to walk their chosen route on or around October 10, 2020. The event
includes an online memorial service featuring music, poetry and a
reading of baby names, as well as photos of walk participants submitted
via email and in the exclusive Facebook group.
I am not posting this to ask for donations this year. If you would like to donate, you still can. I am simply posting this in remembrance of my sweet Aleiyah. Resources are so limited for parents who have lost a baby and in supporting SHARE, I can help make sure the resources that helped me are available to other parents. SHARE is a great resource for parents trying to cope with the loss of a child.
For those that don't know my story:
On May 16th 2018, my beautiful daughter Aleiyah
was born. As soon as she came into the world, she was taken to the NICU
and had the greatest team of doctors anyone could ask for. She had PPHN
(Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension of the Newborn) and her doctors were
optimistic. The next day, she took a turn for the worse. I could not
let my precious girl suffer and had to make the difficult decision to
remove life support. My daughter spent 23 minutes in my arms. When she
took her last breath, my world fell apart. When I lost her, I lost a
piece of my heart. I did not know how to keep going.
